Frequently Asked Questions

What is BLS certification and who needs it?

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is an American Heart Association credential that trains healthcare providers in CPR, AED use, and airway management. It is required for most licensed healthcare professionals including nurses, dental assistants, medical assistants, chiropractors, and physical therapists.

What is the difference between BLS and CPR/AED certification?

BLS is designed for licensed healthcare providers and is required by most employers and licensing boards in the medical field. CPR/AED certification is ideal for non-clinical staff, daycare workers, office administrators, and anyone who needs general CPR training without the full healthcare provider credential. Not sure which one your team needs? We'll help you figure it out when we follow up.

How long does a group session take?

Group sessions run between 3 and 4 hours. Three hours is the minimum required by the American Heart Association. No session can be shortened below that regardless of group size. If any staff need extra time or additional practice, sessions can extend to 4 hours to make sure everyone leaves fully confident and certified.

Do you come to our office?

Yes. We travel to medical offices, dental offices, chiropractic practices, daycare centers, and other facilities within 50 miles of Somerset, NJ. We bring all equipment including mannequins and AED trainers. Your staff just need to show up.

Is there a travel fee?

There is no travel fee for locations within 15 miles of Somerset, NJ. A $25 travel fee applies for locations 15–25 miles away and a $50 travel fee applies for locations 25–50 miles away. The travel fee is confirmed when we follow up after your request.

How much does group training cost?

Groups of 6 or more qualify for on-site training at your location. Groups of 10 or more receive our group discount rate. Pricing varies by group size and certification type — BLS and CPR/AED are priced differently. Submit a request and we'll provide exact pricing within 24 hours.

Is the certification from the American Heart Association?

Yes. All certifications are issued through the American Heart Association, the gold standard accepted by hospitals, licensing boards, and healthcare employers nationwide. Certification is valid for two years.

What happens if our group is larger than 20 people?

No problem — groups larger than 20 are split into two back-to-back sessions on the same day at your location. Each session accommodates up to 20 staff. For groups over 40, contact us to discuss scheduling.

How long is the certification valid?

AHA CPR and BLS certifications are valid for 2 years from the date of completion. We're happy to help your office track renewal dates so your team never lapses.

Can individuals book classes separately?

Yes. If you have fewer than 6 staff needing certification, we recommend booking individual classes at our Somerset, NJ location. Visit our Class Schedule page to see available dates and reserve a spot online.
